Privacy policy
Memotack is a notes app made by Varodax. This policy describes exactly what it stores, where, and for how long. It is short because the app collects very little.
If you don't create an account, nothing leaves your phone
Memotack works fully without signing in. In that case your notes are stored only in the app's private storage on your device, and no note ever reaches our servers. Uninstalling the app deletes them.
What we store if you do create an account

What the app does not collect
- No analytics or usage tracking inside the app (this website is a separate matter — see below)
- No advertising, and no advertising identifiers
- No contacts and no photos
- No microphone access except while you are holding the voice-note button — see voice notes below
- No location data collected — see place reminders below
- No selling or sharing of your data with anyone, for any purpose
Place reminders and location
You can attach a place to a note so it reminds you when you arrive. This is optional and off unless you set one up.
If you do, Android asks for location permission — including "allow all the time", which is what lets a reminder fire while the app is closed. Memotack registers the area with Android's own geofencing service, and the operating system watches for arrival and tells the app. Your coordinates are not sent to us and are not stored on our servers. We do not track your movements, build a location history, or share location with anyone.
The place attached to a note — its coordinates, radius and label — is saved with that note. If you sync, it travels with the note under the same account-level rules as the rest of it. Remove the place, or the note, and it goes.
Never set a place reminder and Memotack never requests location at all. You can withdraw the permission at any time in Android's settings; place reminders simply stop firing.
Voice notes
Voice notes are optional, require an account, and only run while you hold the microphone button. Android asks for microphone permission the first time; decline it and the rest of the app is unaffected.
What happens is in two parts. First, the speech is turned into text by your phone's own speech recogniser — the same one your keyboard's dictation uses. Memotack doesn't upload the audio, and on most devices this step is handled by Google as the supplier of that recogniser, under Google's terms rather than ours.
Second, the resulting text is sent over HTTPS to Memotack's own server, and from there to Groq, the AI provider that gives it a title and splits it into checklist items. The tidied note comes straight back to your phone. We do not store the transcript or the tidied text on our servers — it exists only for the length of that request, and the only lasting copy is the note on your device (and in your synced notes, if you are signed in).
The only thing kept is a per-account count of how many voice notes you have made today, held in memory so a single account cannot exhaust the service. Never use the feature and nothing about it applies to you.
Signing in with Google
If you use "Continue with Google", Google confirms your identity to us and gives us your email address. We do not receive your Google password, and we get no access to your Google account beyond that address.
This website
The app and this website are not the same thing. The app has no analytics in it at all. This website uses Google Analytics 4 to count page views and the basic interactions around them — how far down a page you scrolled, which buttons and links you pressed — so we can tell which pages are worth keeping. It is off until you say otherwise.
On your first visit a small bar asks whether that is alright. Until you accept,
no analytics cookie is set and Google receives only a cookieless signal
that a page was viewed, with no identifier that follows you between visits. Accept, and
Google Analytics sets its usual cookies (_ga and friends) so a return visit
is recognised as the same browser rather than a new person.
Either way we record your answer in a single first-party cookie named
mt_consent, kept for a year, so the bar stops asking. Clearing your cookies
brings the question back. We do not use advertising features, we do not build profiles,
and we do not sell anything to anyone.
Where it is stored
Notes and account records are held in a Supabase-hosted PostgreSQL database running on
Amazon Web Services in Singapore (ap-southeast-1). Traffic between the app
and that database is encrypted with HTTPS, and the data is encrypted at rest.
Access is enforced by database-level row security rules keyed to your account, so your notes are readable only by your own signed-in session.
How long it is kept
Your notes are kept until you delete them or delete your account. A deleted note leaves a marker for up to 30 days so that the deletion reaches your other devices, after which the marker is removed too.
Deleting your account
You can delete your account and everything in it from inside the app: Settings → Danger zone → Delete my account. This immediately and permanently removes your account, every note you have synced, and your plan record. It cannot be undone and there is no backup.

Children
Memotack is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them.
Changes
If this policy changes, the effective date above changes with it, and significant changes will be announced in the app.
